Call for Support: Solidarity with Oradea's LGBTQI Community!
IGLYO expresses our solidarity with our Member ARK Oradea and the LGBTQI community of Oradea, Romania, facing the local authorities’ intention to once again block the Pride March scheduled for 25 July.
This goes against the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of Romania, the European Convention on Human Rights, and the values of the European Union.
If this happens, Oradea will become, after Budapest, the only city in the European Union where local authorities repeatedly prevent the LGBTQI community from exercising its right to peaceful assembly through a Pride march.
As some of our IGLYO team Members will make their way to Oradea next week, we join our Member ARK in calling on the Mayor of the Municipality of Oradea, the municipal commission for authorising public assemblies, and all competent institutions to allow the Oradea Pride March 2026 to take place in safety.
