ARK is an LGBTQIA+ organisation based in Oradea, Romania. Founded in 2023, ARK is the first local organisation dedicated to advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights and freedoms through community work, social initiatives, art and education.
Since its inception, ARK has organised the annual Oradea Pride and led various campaigns and events that strengthen connections and solidarity within the local LGBTQIA+ community and between its members and allies.
ARK’s mission is to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ people through projects that address their needs and amplify their voices and experiences. Their work strives to provide otherwise locally-unavailable opportunities for young LGBTQIA+ people to get involved in cultural and social initiatives.
ARK envisions a world where LGBTQIA+ people are not subjected to institutional and everyday discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity - a world that values social diversity and rejects rigid norms.
