Spectrum positions itself at the intersection of queer-feminism, environmentalism, anti-capitalism, anti-colonialism, and anti-racism efforts for a free and equal world. They are unapologetically intersectional-feminist, anti-racist, and inclusive of trans and gender-diverse people.
Spectrum is a non-profit eco queer-feminist NGO (Asscoiation 1901) based in France, aiming at advancing feminist values and promoting feminism in societies. Founded in 2014 and led by Iranian diaspora activists in Europe, Spectrum has evolved to respond to the needs of Farsi/Dari-speaking communities, where LGBTQIA+ identities are either criminalised or pathologised.
Spectrum has a multigenerational audience and is providing a platform for young activists, inside Iran and Afghanistan and those forcibly displaced in Europe. Spectrum has also been involved in advocacy for gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and human rights of all women and LGBTQIA+ persons at the European and international levels.
Spectrum believes in the spectrum of sex, gender, and sexual orientation and works together to make the world a better and equal place for everyone on these interconnected spectrums.
