Rainbowscouts is the national Swiss organisation representing queer and ally Scouts and youth across all linguistic regions of Switzerland. It works in close collaboration with the Swiss Guide and Scout Movement (SGSM), the largest youth organisation in the country, to enhance inclusion and support LGBTQIA+ young people and leaders. Rainbowscouts ensures that queer youth and allies from all Swiss language regions are represented and heard within national discussions on identity, inclusion, and youth rights.
The organisation acts as a network and contact point for anyone in Swiss scouting who wants to engage with diversity, identity, and belonging. Its work ranges from providing practical resources and training, to facilitating peer support and exchange, to advising Scout groups and national structures on inclusive practices. Rainbowscouts also creates safe and welcoming spaces at major camps, events, and festivals where queer youth can connect, feel seen, and participate fully in the scouting experience.
