About

[H] Brașov

[H] Brașov is a local LGBTQI grassroots initiative founded in February 2019 with the support of MozaiQ LGBT Association's efforts to strengthen local queer communities across Romania.

Since October 2023, [H] has also operated as a legally registered NGO while maintaining its horizontal, volunteer-led, and community-driven structure. Based in Brașov, in the heart of Romania, they create safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for LGBTQI people through community gatherings, support groups, workshops, cultural events, Pride @ Brașov, LGBTQI History Month activities, hikes, picnics, and advocacy initiatives.

Their work focuses on fostering connection, belonging, and mutual support while contributing to a more inclusive local and national society. They like to say that their activities come with a unique "mountain vibe", inspired by the natural beauty and welcoming spirit of Brașov and its surroundings.

Their mission

Their mission is to support, connect, and empower the local LGBTQI community in Brașov while strengthening links with queer communities across Romania. They work to create safer spaces where LGBTQI people can meet, share experiences, access peer support, and build meaningful relationships.

Through community organising, educational activities, support groups, cultural events, and advocacy, they encourage participation, visibility, solidarity, and personal growth. They believe that lasting social change begins with strong communities built on empathy, respect, collective responsibility, and mutual care.

By collaborating with local, national, and international partners, they strive to promote equality, human rights, and social inclusion for LGBTQI people while contributing to a more open and democratic society for everyone.
