The CURE Foundation (CURE) is a feminist-activist organisation that works for gender equality by advocating for positive social change through educational, artistic-cultural, and research programmes.
By organising affirmative actions, CURE celebrates the strength and power of women, and works to empower people in order to become initiators of social change in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world. Feminist activism has enabled a safe space where women are strong, fearless, capable and united in all their diversity.
CURE is an organisation of professionals and volunteers who take it to the streets as a sign of public protest against violence, discrimination, violations of laws and basic human rights. They also organise performances against violence, invite artists, scientists, educators, activists, citizens to action and concrete personal contribution, in order to create a better and healthier Bosnian society.
Active and recognised as the leaders of numerous initiatives within the women’s movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the CURE Foundation stands for the detabooisation of certain topics within society in general. They are primarily focused on working with women and girls, spreading knowledge about women’s rights and activism, and strengthening the visibility of the role of women and girls in society.
With their work, they encourage a new generation of feminists and activists, and work to strengthen the women’s movement through different approaches and intergenerational solidarity.
